“Many hands make light work.”  I seem to remember that as being a favorite refrain of Ma Ingalls in the Little House books.

I loved reading the whole series of books, but I was grown up before I really appreciated Ma Ingalls’ wisdom.  Many people working together can get a lot done without overwhelming anyone. Moreover, working together is a great way to get to know people and get involved!

So, our church needs willing hands, hearts and voices.
Hospitality Team – these are the delightful people who make our Sunday mornings savory and sweet by setting up and taking down the coffee and other treats.
Office – Answer phones and do some light office work.  We need persons in the afternoons on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and in the mornings on Fridays.
Liturgists – Lead in Call to Worship and prayers and reading scripture during Sunday morning worship in the traditional service.
Scripture Readers – Read scripture in the Wave.
If you would like to help with ANY of these, please contact the church office!

We are doing Vacation Bible School a little differently this year.  It will be every Tuesday night in July, allowing people who are away for a week to still participate!  Our VBS theme is Make A Splash, and it will include an adult Bible Study component. Every Tuesday night, from 6 until 7, we will study the scripture that the kids are using in VBS.  The following Sunday, that same scripture will be preached. In that way, our WHOLE church is experiencing VBS. It is going to be a great summer at SUMC!

Faithfully,
Pastor Scarlett
